NEW PALTZ, NY- The New Paltz women's lacrosse team ended the 2010 season with a 19-13 win over the Roadrunners of Ramapo College Tuesday evening on the Turf Field. The Hawks finish the season at 4-11, which sets a school record for wins in a season. Ramapo falls to 10-7 overall.
The Hawks out shot the Roadrunners 34-27 and picked up one more groundball, 28-27. The Hawks dominated draw controls winning 23 of 34 and was successful on 14-of-20 clears.
Samantha DelGaudio and
Bridgitte Hooker each scored four goals a piece, including two assists from DelGaudio to lead the Hawks.
Brittany Bennett and
Brittany Hunt each had two goals and two assists on the day.
Erin Tornatore tallied a hat-trick and
Julia Donato tallied two scores of her own.
Margaret DeLauter recorded the win in net, allowing 13 goals and stopping seven for her fourth win in net.
Amanda Barretta led the Roadrunners with nine points, including eight goals and was 4-of-4 on free position shots. Adrianna Tepedino and Angela Belotta each tallied two scores and Cassandra Hartline socre once.
Megan Tierney recorded the loss in net, allowing 19 goals and stopping 12.
