GENESEO, N.Y. – Despite commendable efforts in goal by freshman goalkeeper

Elizabeth Dini (Sayville, N.Y.), the State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team fell, 4-0, to SUNY Geneseo in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action Saturday afternoon at Merritt Field.
Pjetri saw 11 shots on frame in the first stanza, making eight stops before Dini entered the contest in the second half. The Blue Knights (4-1, 2-0 SUNYAC) took a 3-0 lead into the intermission and put the game out of reach 58 seconds into the new half, as Erin Zalewski fired home her second goal of the contest.
The Hawks (3-3, 1-1 SUNYAC) held Geneseo scoreless throughout the remainder of the conference tilt, although the hosts still unleashed nine shots in the final 35 minutes of play.
The New Paltz keepers combined to stop 12 shots, one of which came in the second period under Dini's watch. Caitlyn Dowell made one save in the cage for Geneseo, while Nicole Zito took over for the final 10:38 and did not face a shot.
Geneseo held the shot advantage, 21-3, and also took 11 penalty corners to New Paltz's six.
The blue and orange will seek to move above the .500 mark once again when it hosts Drew University in a non-conference clash on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 4:30 p.m. on the Turf Field.
