SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – On day one of the Tom Hay Invitational at Springfield College Friday, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team (13-8) split, defeating Westfield State College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-20), before suffering a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) setback against No. 20 Springfield.

Dana Vosilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) all paced the Hawk attack with nine kills each, while sophomore setter
Marissa King (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) dished out 19 assists. Defensively, sophomore libero
Carrie Hack (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) led the way with 10 digs on the match.
Springfield lived up to its ranking, handling the Hawks in straight sets. DiGiovanna and Vosilla tied for the team-high in kills with nine apiece, and King assumed the setting duties, handing out 32 assists. DiGiovanna also chipped in on defense with nine digs.
New Paltz finishes up play at the Tom Hay Invitational tomorrow, facing the Stevens Institute of Technology at 10 a.m. before finding itself opposite Plymouth State University at 12:30 p.m.
