LYNCHBURG, Va. – After drawing in its first-ever NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament game yesterday and advancing on penalty kicks, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team (13-5-3) is back to work on Sunday, Nov. 13, as it faces off with Rowan University (14-4-0) in the second round of the national tournament at 5 p.m. on the campus of Lynchburg College.

Stephanie Vega (Oceanside, N.Y./Baldwin Senior) made 11 saves in regulation before coming up big in the penalty-kick shootout, as the Hawks stunned host and 11th-ranked Lynchburg College in front of more than 500 fans at Shellenberger Field by advancing to the second round, 3-2, on penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie. Rowan took Shenandoah University into overtime in the nightcap, and Veronica Rhea scored in the first overtime period to give the Profs the 1-0 victory.
