NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Lindsay Abbott had two goals and six assists for the Red Dragons, as No. 5 SUNY Cortland (11-1, 4-0 SUNYAC) downed the State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team (6-6, 0-4 SUNYAC), 20-6, on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the Turf Field in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game.
Cortland's Maria Di Fato and Erin Kollar tied for the game-high in goals with three, while Ashley Cook, Gina Campese, Jordan Miller, Taylor Reh and Liz Beville all scored twice. Mary Hartzheim and Taylor Robinson also chipped in with one goal each. With five points on the afternoon, Di Fato became the 32nd player in program history to surpass 100 career points. She now has 101 to her credit as a Red Dragon.

Juli Rehain (Suffern, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder
Talia Tesler (Rochester, N.Y.) each scored twice, while junior midfielder
Julia Donato (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and senior midfielder

Rehain scored the game's first goal at 28:16 of the first half before the Red Dragons responded with four unanswered goals. Hooker made it a two-goal game with her 13th goal of the season at the 20:39 mark of the first half, but Cortland put a stranglehold on the momentum, keeping the Hawks scoreless until 14:44 of the second half. During that span, the Red Dragons buried 15 unanswered goals. New Paltz played competitive down the stretch, scoring four of the game's final five markers.
On the afternoon, Cortland outshot New Paltz, 37-15, and was 5-of-9 on clear attempts compared to the Hawks' 4-of-12 mark. The Red Dragons also controlled 16 draws to the Hawks' 12.
Junior goalkeeper
Stefanie Mignone (Farmingville, N.Y.) was tagged with the loss, surrendering 20 goals and making six stops in 60 minutes of action. Cortland's Ally Levy gained the win in net, corralling two saves in 30 minutes of play, while Shauna Hutchinson took over and yielded four goals in the remaining 30 minutes while making one stop.
The Hawks embark on a four-game road swing on Tuesday, April 19, taking on SUNY Oswego in Oswego, N.Y. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
