ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Six goals and one assist from junior attack player
Samantha DelGaudio (Northport, N.Y.) paced the State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team (7-7) in a 19-5 non-conference win over Bard College (3-9) on Thursday evening.
DelGaudio now has 95 goals on her career, just two shy of Katie Sharp's program mark of 97, which she set from 1999-2002. In addition, she is two goals shy of the single-season program record of 36, which Megan Porter established in 2001.
The Hawks hopped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 12:56 of the contest, but Bard battled back, netting three of the next four goals. Victoria Fleisher drew the Raptors within three at 6-3 with 2:28 remaining in the first half. DelGaudio, however, scored with nine seconds left on the clock in the first half, and New Paltz led 7-3 at the break.
From that point forward, the Hawks poured on the offense, scoring six unanswered to open the second half. After Bard's Farah Akhtar scored at 19:09 of the second half, New Paltz buried five more goals to go up, 18-4. Akhtar found the back of the net again for Bard, but DelGaudio put the finishing touches on the game, scoring with eight seconds left to provide the margin of victory.
New Paltz outshot Bard, 41-24, and controlled 15 draws to Bard's 10. In addition, the Hawks were 20-of-22 on clear attempts, while the Raptors were 13-of-15.

Juli Rehain (Suffern, N.Y.) had four goals, while senior midfielder
Bridgitte Hooker (Glens Falls, N.Y.) had three. Junior midfielder
Krista Hannaford (Huntington Station, N.Y.) put away a pair of scores, while senior midfielder
Brittany Bennett (Smithtown, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder
Erin Tornatore (Glen Cove, N.Y.), freshman attack player
Rashidat Soetan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and sophomore attack player
Meredith Henshaw (Rock Tavern, N.Y.) each scored once. Bennett also had three assists. In goal, junior goalkeeper
Stefanie Mignone (Farmingville, N.Y.) turned aside 14 shots across 60 minutes of action.
Bard was led by Akhtar, who had a team-high two goals. Bridget Reddington, Stephanie LaMont and Fleisher all added markers, while Reddington and LaMont had one assist each. Hannah Becker stopped 10 shots in net for the Raptors.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 23, taking on SUNY Geneseo in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in Geneseo, N.Y. The opening draw is set for 11 a.m.
