WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – A goal by senior defender/midfielder
Kim Lepore (Stanfordville, N.Y./Stissing Mountain) 12:12 into the first overtime period propelled the State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team (13-4) to a 1-0 overtime win over Wilkes University (8-9) on Friday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium in non-conference action. The Hawks—who are in the midst of their first winning season in program history—stretch their win streak to seven games.

Antonija Pjetri (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) had the best outing of her career in the cage, making a career-high 18 stops to earn the shutout.

Danielle Conklin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) fed a ball into Lepore, who buried a score off a rebound in front of the cage. That goal wound up being the golden one, and the Hawks registered their seventh shutout of the season.
For the contest, New Paltz was outshot, 22-14, and Wilkes held a 14-12 edge in penalty corners.
Wilkes goalkeeper Alexis Reed shouldered the loss, making six saves.
New Paltz closes out its regular season tomorrow, as it takes on Kean University at 5 p.m. in Union, N.J.
