SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team (18-3) knocked off Westfield State University (3-12), 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-18), on the first day of the Tom Hay Women's Volleyball Invitational hosted by Springfield College on Friday.
Freshman outside hitter
Becca Borquist (Rhinebeck, N.Y./Rhinebeck) led the way with 11 kills and 10 digs, while junior setter
Marissa King (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) dished out 29 assists and came up with eight digs. Senior right side
Eleanor Skovgaard (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford-Sutherland) floored four kills in six total attempts, while senior middle hitter
Dana Vosilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) landed nine kills and had two blocks.
New Paltz continues action at the Tom Hay Women's Volleyball Invitational tomorrow afternoon, taking on Plymouth State University at 10 a.m. and host Springfield at 12:30 p.m. The tournament's championship match will occur at 2:30 p.m.
