Meet Results

MAHWAH, N.J. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team (3-0) won all but three events, defeating Ramapo College (1-2), 142-112, on Saturday afternoon in Mahwah, N.J. Junior Chelsea Allocco (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and sophomore Colleen Stewart (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) each won multiple individual events for the Hawks.

Allocco placed first in the 1,000 freestyle (11:11.57) and the 500 freestyle (5:31.79), while Stewart touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.50) and the 200 breaststroke (2:37.83). Stewart added a first-place finish by joining senior Yuka Suzuka (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and freshmen Ella Graffin (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and Cassidy Griger (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown Central) on the Hawks' “A” 400 medley relay team that clocked a 4:13.55.

Freshman Kim Kallansrude (Muttontown, N.Y./Jericho) won the 200 butterfly (2:18.38), junior Victoria Scalise (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) topped the field in the 100 freestyle (55.07) and Suzuka charted the fastest time in the 200 backstroke (2:15.00). Graffin and Griger won the 100 butterfly (1:03.74) and 200 individual medley (2:20.52), respectively, but the pair did not score points, as the Hawks had declared their entries as exhibition at that point.

Seniors Katina Lown (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) and Anna Jakubek (Harriman, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury), Suzuka and Scalise teamed up to clock the fastest time in the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.56) at the end of the meet, but the foursome did not score points, as the relay was entered as exhibition.
