ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Following another 2-0 day, the State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team (7-1) claimed the University of Rochester Volleyball Invitational title, topping the host University of Rochester, 3-1 (25-15, 25-19, 22-25, 25-13), before downing Hamilton College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-21). The Hawks won the tournament by virtue of being the only team there to go undefeated for the weekend, going 4-0.

Carrie Hack (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and senior right side
Eleanor Skovgaard (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford-Sutherland) each were named to the All-Tournament Team following a strong weekend.
Against Rochester, Skovgaard paced the attack with a match-high 16 kills and a scorching .536 hitting percentage. Hack came up with 29 digs, while freshman outside hitter
Becca Borquist (Rhinebeck, N.Y./Rhinebeck) boasted 21 digs. Junior setter
Marissa King (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) kept the offense running with 45 assists and was also strong off the serve with four service aces. For the Yellowjackets, Savannah Benton put away nine kills, while Kelly Mulrey tallied 18 digs.
Senior middle hitter
Dana Vosilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) paved the way for the Hawks in their tournament finale, flooring 12 kills against Hamilton. King dished out 29 assists, while Hack collected 21 digs. Hack also floored four service aces.
New Paltz contests the Stevens Institute of Technology in its 2012 home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The first serve is set for 7 p.m.
