POMONA, N.J. – Two second-half goals by Richard Stockton College broke a 1-all tie, as the State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team fell, 3-1, to the non-conference Ospreys on Saturday afternoon.

Danielle Conklin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) rattled the back of the cage unassisted to knot the score at one apiece. Two early goals in the second half gave the Ospreys the separation they needed to pull out the home win.
New Paltz drops to 6-5 overall, while Richard Stockton advances to 8-3 overall. Up next for the Hawks is the Stevens Institute of Technology at the Turf Field on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m., while the Ospreys visit DeSales University next on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m.
Richard Stockton's Susie Balidemaj buried the game's first goal at 27:44, using a pass from Colleen Knight to score. Conklin leveled the score at 29:48, which proved to be the halftime tally. Alicia Leadbeater notched an unassisted goal at 39:41, while Rileigh Ruff converted on a Cassie Kirk pass at 44:15 to spell out the eventual final score.

Antonija Pjetri (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern) shouldered the loss in a seven-save effort, while the Ospreys' Liz Stankiewicz earned the win despite the fact that she allowed a goal on the only shot on target she faced.
