Kean StatsNEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team closes out its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosting non-conference Kean University at 1 p.m. at the Turf Field. It serves as the Hawks' final tune-up before the 2013 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Field Hockey Tournament, which runs from Friday-Saturday, Nov. 8-9, at top-seeded SUNY Cortland
Records: New Paltz enters Saturday's contest at 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the SUNYAC. Kean owns a 13-4 overall mark and a 2-4 record in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
Scouting the Hawks: Sophomore forward
Dani Ackerman tied the single-game program record in assists with three, as New Paltz rolled to a 5-1 non-conference win over Vassar College on Thursday... Alyssa Finck is the only other Hawk to post three assists in a game, as she had three against Ramapo College on Oct. 23, 2010... Freshman forward/midfielder
Kayla McKeveny opened scoring at 3:27 off an Ackerman pass, while Ackerman found the stick of senior forward
Danielle Conklin in the 33rd minute to gain a 2-0 lead heading into halftime... New Paltz scored three times in the first 15 minutes of the second half... The Ackerman-to-Conklin connection worked once again in the 42nd minute, while freshman forward
Erin Landy assisted on an Ackerman score at 43:28... McKeveny fed Landy for the team's final goal at 43:28... Conklin is three points away from tying the program's career mark.
Scouting the Cougars: Kean, whose only setbacks have come in conference play this season, lost for the third game in a row on Tuesday against top-ranked Montclair State University, falling by a 5-0 final in an NJAC contest... It marked Kean's final home game of the season... Five different Montclair State players scored in the win, as the Red Hawks netted three goals in the first half and two markers in the second... Montclair State finished with an 18-5 edge in shots and a 6-2 cushion in penalty corners... As of the most recent NCAA Division III statistical rankings, sophomore goalkeeper Katie DiCarlo ranked seventh in the nation in save percentage at .847... As a team, Kean is ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division III in goals-against average (0.81)and is tied for eighth nationally in shutouts per game (0.50)... Today is Kean's final contest of the season.

Morgan Lizotte in the 61st minute, and Lizotte rattled the back of the cage to round out New Paltz's scoring.
Head Coaches: New Paltz is directed by fifth-year head coach
Shanna Vitale, who has won back-to-back SUNYAC Coach of the Year honors. Kean is led by fifth-year bench boss Leslie LaFronz.
What's Next: New Paltz, which owns the No. 3 seed in the 2013 SUNYAC Field Hockey Tournament, looks to defend its conference title from last year in the semifinal round of the SUNYAC's championship playoff on Friday, Nov. 8, at 1:30 p.m. against second-seeded SUNY Geneseo. Kean's season comes to a close following Saturday's contest.
