CLERMONT, Fla. – The State University of New York at New Paltz softball team (1-2) dropped a pair of games during its first day at the NTC Spring Games on Friday, falling, 3-1, to Macalester College before dropping a 13-12 decision in 10 innings to Plymouth State University.
Against Macalester, senior
Amber Carozza (Milton, N.Y./Marlboro) threw a four-hitter, striking out five. Junior
Chelsea Kull (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) powered the offense with a 2-for-3 performance that included a double.
Against Plymouth State, sophomore
Marissa Monaco (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the seventh, while senior
Melissa Liotta (Brentwood, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) batted 2-for-5 as well.
New Paltz continues action at the NTC Spring Games tomorrow, facing Eastern Connecticut State University at 11 a.m. before squaring off with Kalamazoo College at 1 p.m.
