NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team looks to bounce back after last Friday's tough loss to SUNY Cortland this weekend, as it competes in a pair of dual meets. On Friday, Jan. 24, the Hawks take on Mount Saint Mary College at 6 p.m. for their last home meet of the season. They then travel to SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, Jan. 25, for a 1 p.m. meet.
RECORDS: New Paltz heads into Friday's meet with a 4-2 record, while Mount Saint Mary College is 7-3. SUNY Oneonta is 5-1.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-2): New Paltz fell just shy of a win against SUNY Cortland in its last meet on Friday, Jan. 17, losing 132-130. Sophomore
Cassidy Griger won three individual events and a fourth event by leading off the Hawks first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Griger won the 200 freestyle (2:00:16), the 50 freestyle (25.86), and the 100 freestyle (55.42)...The 400 freestyle relay squad consisted of Griger, senior

Ella Graffin and senior
Victoria Scalise, who won with a time of 3:44:00...
Chelsea Allocco won in the 1,000 freestyle (10:54:01) and the 500 freestyle (5:19:87)...
Samantha Granan also won in the 100 breaststroke (1:09:63) and
Maggie Heaton touched first in the 100 butterfly (1:02:25).
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (7-3): Mount Saint Mary College posted a 78-55 Skyline Conference victory over St. Joseph's College (LI) on Saturday, Jan. 18, in Newburgh, N.Y., at the Kaplan Center, stretching its dual-meet record in conference to 3-0... The Knights were led by junior Meghan Seaman in the 1,000 freestyle (11:50:47) and freshman Regina Zeoli in the 200 freestyle (2:09:06)... The Knights were able to finish in the top three spots in the 50 freestyle... Freshman Allison Sciucco finished first (27.30), junior Danielle Rodriguez placed second (27.87) and freshman Amanda Bocekci took third (28.34).
LAST MEETING: Friday will be the first time that these women's swimming teams square off.
SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (5-1): The Red Dragons were victorious on the road in their last meet, defeating The College at Brockport, 117-106… Sophomore Lauren Zentko won two individual events and was also a member of a winning relay team… Zentko won the 400 individual medley (4:46:98) and the 500 freestyle (5:19:93)... Joining Zentko for the relay was junior Carly Cahill, freshman Nicole DiFilippo and senior Chandler Shepard who collectively earned a time of 4:07:73... Other individual winners were Shepard in the 100 freestyle (55.18), sophomore Taylor Waldrop in the 1,000 freestyle (11:21:90) and junior Kelly Ruf in the 200 butterfly (2:16:36).
LAST MEETING: New Paltz last met with SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, when the Hawks took a 130-75 victory at home... See below for the recap from that meet.
