NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team is in search of its fifth-straight win on Wednesday, Oct. 15, playing at SUNY Oneonta in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.
 
RECORDS: The Hawks are 9-4, 3-1 SUNYAC… The Red Dragons are 7-5, 3-1 SUNYAC… The winner of this contest will have sole possession of second place in the conference.
 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (9-4, 3-1 SUNYAC): New Paltz looks to go undefeated on its five-game road trip… The Hawks started the road swing with conference wins over The College at Brockport and SUNY Geneseo and followed with victories at the Stevens Institute of Technology and Kean University… Over the past four games, freshman forward Justine O'Reilly has scored four goals, while senior midfielder Deirdre O'Neill and sophomore forward Kayla McKeveny have tallied three… Junior forward/midfielder Dani Ackerman leads the SUNYAC in shots (65) and shots per game (5.0)… Junior goalkeeper Alayna Wageman ranks second in the league in goals-against average (GAA) (2.39).
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: McKeveny leads the team with seven goals and 19 points… O'Neill, Ackerman and O'Reilly all have six goals… Sophomore forward Erin Landy has registered 11 points… McKeveny, O'Neill and junior back Jessica Caruana have five assists… Wageman is 9-4 with a GAA of 1.86, a .753 save percentage, 70 saves and two shutouts.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks have outscored teams, 34-24, including a 21-13 margin in the second half… New Paltz is outshooting opponents, 227-156, holding a 146-102 shots-on-goal edge… The Hawks have attempted 159 penalty corners, compared to 72 for opponents.
 

SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (7-5, 3-1 SUNYAC): Oneonta has won four of its last five contests, including a 3-2 win at Bates College on Saturday… Sophomore forward Bailee Barrett tallied two goals against the Bobcats… Senior forward Andrea Day leads the SUNYAC in points (27), points per game (2.25), goals (11) and goals per game (.917)… Day was named the SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Oct. 13.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Day leads the team in goals (11), assists (5), points (27), shots (45), shots on goal (30) and game-winning goals (3)… Barrett is second with nine goals, 20 points and 27 shots… Senior forward Kelcy Forbragd has scored five goals and tallied 13 points… Senior goalkeeper Tess Tracy is 6-5 with a GAA of 2.10, a .793 save percentage and 73 saves… Junior goalkeeper Krista Servedio is 1-0 with a 2.38 GAA, a .650 save percentage and 13 saves.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: Oneonta has outscored teams, 28-26… The Red Dragons hold a slim 117-115 shots-on-goal edge… Oneonta has outscored opponents 17-14 in the second half, holding a 104-81 shots margin during that period.

LAST MEETING: Defense helped propel the Hawks past Oneonta, 1-0, when these two teams last met on Oct. 2, 2013.
