Box Score 2 GALLOWAY, N.J. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team finished out its showing at the Richard Stockton Osprey Classic with a split on Saturday, falling, 3-1 (22-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-22), to host Richard Stockton College before closing out the weekend with a 3-2 (25-23, 12-25, 14-25, 25-21, 16-14) win over Swarthmore College.

New Paltz moves to 22-5 overall and finishes out State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) competition at the third SUNYAC Pool Play hosted by SUNY Fredonia from Friday-Saturday, Oct. 24-25. Richard Stockton rises to 22-4 overall and hosts New Jersey City University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m., while Swarthmore drops to 19-5 overall and entertains Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in a Centennial Conference tilt.
Richard Stockton 3, New Paltz 1 After winning the first set, 25-22, New Paltz fell by large margins in the second and third stanzas before the host Ospreys held off the Hawks, 25-22, in the fourth.
New Paltz hit at a .132 clip for the match and floored six service aces. Defensively, the Hawks totaled five blocks as a team and defended 77 digs.

Morgan Roessler (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) keyed the Hawk attack with 10 kills each, while freshman setter
Maddie Zwickl (Chester, N.Y./Warwick Valley) doled out 30 assists. Herbst led the back row defensively with 26 digs.
New Paltz 3, Swarthmore 2 In a rematch of a contest that New Paltz won in straight sets less than a month ago, Swarthmore pushed the Hawks to a deciding set. Despite struggling in the second and third sets, New Paltz bounced back with a strong performance in the fourth and held off the Garnet in the fifth.
Swarthmore finished with a .176-to-.096 edge in hitting percentage, but New Paltz won the battle at the net defensively with a 10-4 margin in total team blocks. The Garnet fared the better of the two teams at the service line with 10 service aces to the Hawks' six.
Borquist's 16-kill, 21-dig performance led the way, with Roessler also notching a double-digit kill total with 12. Herbst added yet another 30-plus dig performance to her résumé with 32, while Roessler provided four solo blocks.
