New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz women's volleyball team announced its incoming class for the 2026 season today.

The Hawks are coming off their final season as members of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). New Paltz concluded its SUNYAC era by posting their 21st consecutive SUNYAC Tournament appearance, earning a spot in the semifinal round for the fifth straight season, finishing with a 16-14 record. The season was highlighted with the Hawks capturing the Lycoming Tip-Off Classic.

Jacey Bitter was a two year player for the Plainsmen, starting in her senior year. As a senior she earned Times Union-Large School 2nd Team honors, Suburban Council 2nd Team honors. She had 343 digs, third in NYS Section II. She also had 437 receptions, with season highs of 21 digs in Shen's defeat of defending NYS champions Fairport. She posted 16 service points and 10 digs in a Suburban Council win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Bitter helped the Plainsmen to a 12-0 Suburban Council record, the Section II Class AAA championships and into the NYSPHSAA semifinals and a 35-10-3 overall record.

With Spa City VB she served as team captain for 17 Aqua. In 2026 Bitter was listed on the JVA Watch List. She led 17 Aqua to the 2024 NEAAU Regional title and in 2025 led 18 Gold Aqua to the Great No'Eastern Tournament Open Gold title in New York City.

Bitter was both a two-year Suburban Council Academic Scholar-Athlete and a NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete.

Genevieve Boyle was a two year player and starter for the Warwick Valley Wildcats. She was captain her senior year. She led Warwick Valley to two straight Section IX, Class AA playoff berths, including 2025's Section IX Class AA championship and a NYSPHSAA State Final Four, where the Wildcats finished third.

Boyle was a two-time Varsity 845 Girls Volleyball Watch List pick. In 2024, her first varsity year, she earned All Conference and All Section IX 2nd team honors. As a senior she was named NYSPHSAA All State 2nd Team, All Conference 1st Team. She earned a spot on the NYSPHSAA Championship All Tournament Team and was awarded the NYSVBCA Sportsmanship Award.

With the Orange County Lady Elite, she was team captain for both the 16U and 17U teams. In 2026 she led the Orange County Lady Elite 17 Black to an undefeated performance in winning the Capitol Hill Class at which she was named "Best Attacker" at the tournament.

Boyle is a two-time NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete, and AP Scholar, a US Army Academic All American, was Summa Cum Laude at Warwick Valley for four years and received the NYS Seal of Bileracy (Spanish).

Genevieve Carson played four seasons for The Force, starting in her junior and senior years. In 2024 she helped lead her team into the quarterfinals of the Delaware Interscholatic Athletic Association Girls Volleyball State Championships. At season's end, The Force were ranked fifth in the final MaxPrep Division I Delaware state rankings.

Carson played four years with Brandywine VC, helping them to win the 2026 Gold Championship at the prominent Boardwalk Block Party Showcase in Atlantic City.

Carson was a member of the National Honor Society and the Charter School Honor Roll.

Tess Egan was senior captain for the Oyster Bay Baymen, playing varsity volleyball all four years, starting three years. She helped Oyster Bay achieve greatness during her high school career: four years Nassau County Class B/C champions; three years Long Island Class B/C champions, one year LI Class B finalist; three years NYSPHSAA Class B/C state championship semifinalists.

During that time, Egan was named to the following recognitions: All Conference BC, three times All Nassau County, Newsday All Long Island 2nd Team and NYSPHSAA All State. She also earned preseason honors as in the Newsday Top 100 Long Island Girls Volleyball Players. Her career statistics include over 400 kills and over 120 blocks. Her career single game best was 18 kills against Great Neck North in 2024 and four blocks in a game multiple times in 2024 and 2025.

Playing for SpireHers VC, Egan saw success, earning All Tournament honors leading SpikeHers 17 Gold to the Mohegan Sun Tournament championship and winning with SpikeHers 16 Gold at the MLK Showdown Tournament, among others.

Eagan was named Outstanding Senior Athlete at Oyster Bay High School and was a member of the Baymen's NYSPHSAA Team Scholar-Athlete roster.
