NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team will play its final two regular-season home matches this weekend, hosting SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Potsdam in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action from Friday-Saturday, Oct. 10-11.
RECORDS: The Hawks are 6-5-2, 0-2-2 SUNYAC and have a 3-2-1 record at home... The Cardinals are 6-3-1, 2-0-1 SUNYAC with a 2-3 road mark... Potsdam is 5-5-1, 0-3-0 SUNYAC and holds a 2-2 road record.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (6-5-2, 0-2-2 SUNYAC): The Hawks are looking to break their six-game winless streak and notch their first victory in the SUNYAC… New Paltz is coming off a 5-0 blanking at the hands of SUNY Geneseo and a 2-2 draw against The College at Brockport… The Hawks recorded 10 shots in their loss against Geneseo, led by sophomore midfielder

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS (6-3-1, 2-0-1 SUNYAC): The Cardinals are undefeated in SUNYAC competition after most recently defeating SUNY Cortland, 3-0, and tying SUNY Oswego, 2-2… Plattsburgh scored three second-half goals in its win over Cortland… Junior midfielder Cassidy Clavet, freshman forward Lindsey Bushey and junior forward Devin McMahon each recorded a goal… Sophomore midfielder Ashlie Guinness and sophomore forward Anissa Hartmann each tallied an assist… The Cardinals held the advantage in shots, 14-8… Senior goalkeeper Danielle Schmitt recorded her third shutout of the season while making two saves… Against Oswego, the Cardinals scored two goals in the final five minutes of the game to tie the score at 2-2… Bushey assisted freshman forward Brooke Knight, and Hartmann scored her goal unassisted… Schmitt recorded 10 saves… Schmitt recently earned her second SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week Award… Plattsburgh is 2-3-0 on the road.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: The Cardinals offense is led by Bushey, who is second in the SUNYAC in points (20) and also has nine goals, two assists and 40 shots… Her nine goals are tied for tops in the SUNYAC… Clavet and Knight each have three goals, followed by two players with two goals each and six players who have recorded one goal… McMahon leads the team in assists with four, followed by four players who have each assisted two goals… Schas started in all 10 games and has recorded three shutouts with a SUNYAC-high save percentage of .887.

SCOUTING THE BEARS (5-5-1, 0-3-0): Potsdam is looking to find its first victory in the SUNYAC after dropping its first three games… Last weekend, the Bears fell to Oswego, 3-2, in an overtime bout and then 2-0 to Cortland… The Bears then rebounded in their midweek non-conference win against SUNYIT, 2-0… Sophomore midfielder Kaylen Van Wagner scored off a free kick and junior midfielder Jess Sterns scored a goal from an assist from senior captain Kristin Webster… Freshman goalkeeper Val Driscoll earned her second shutout with three saves… The Bears fired off 30 shots and earned five corner kicks… Potsdam is 2-2-0 on the road.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Freshman Jaci Morr leads the team in points (16) and is tied for second in the SUNYAC with eight goals... Morr has recorded 45 shots... Junior midfielder Jess Sterns has three goals, and eight other players have recorded at least one goal… Sterns is tied with senior defender Nina Komosinski and junior forward Erin McClusky in assists with two each… Junior goalkeeper Emily Lapage has 30 saves along with an .805 save percentage and one shutout.
TEAM STATISTICS: Potsdam is outscoring teams, 19-15, and holds an advantage in shots, 191-151... Potsdam has earned 53 corner kicks and has given up 42.
LAST MEETING: New Paltz suffered a 1-0 overtime loss against Potsdam when these two teams last met on Oct. 11, 2013.
