NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team will travel to Cortland, N.Y., to face SUNY Cortland on Tuesday, Feb 4, at 6 p.m. in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game.
 
RECORDS: New Paltz currently holds a 4-15, 2-10 SUNYAC record, while Cortland owns an 11-8, 7-5 mark.
 
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-15, 2-10 SUNYAC):  New Paltz fell to SUNY Plattsburgh in an 84-53 loss on Saturday, Feb. 1, in conference play… Freshman forward Kit Small led the Hawks' offense with 14 points in the first half… She finished the game with 23 points, her seventh straight game in double figures… Freshman forward Courtney Irby contributed 11 rebounds, her seventh double-digit rebounding game the season.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS:  Small leads the Hawks in scoring with 11.4 points per game, which is 16th in the SUNYAC… Irby leads the team and is ranked sixth in the SUNYAC for rebounds per game with 8.0… Senior forward Jeanette Scott leads the team with 0.9 blocks per game, which ranks seventh in the SUNYAC… Junior guard Shannan Walker is ranked fourth in the conference in minutes played, averaging 32.7 per game… Sophomore guard Goldie Harrison leads the conference and the team in steals with 2.3 per game.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: New Paltz holds its opponents to a scoring average of 65.9 points per game… The Hawks are ranked third in the SUNYAC in offensive rebounds per game (14.3)… Opponents shoot only 66.6 percent from the free-throw line, which is the third-best mark in the conference… New Paltz ranks fifth in the conference in steals and blocks with 9.95 per game and 2.68 per game, respectively.
 
SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (11-8, 7-5 SUNYAC): Cortland was handed a 66-49 loss against SUNYAC leader Buffalo State on Saturday, Feb 1… Senior forward Grace Williamson registered her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds… Junior forward Rae Frasier contributed six points and six rebounds, while junior guards Brittany Rando and Lindsey Minor added six points each.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Three players score in double figures… Senior guard Megan Touhey leads the Red Dragons in points with 13.6 per game, followed by sophomore guard Caysea Cohen (11.4 ppg) and Williamson (11.3 ppg)… Touhey is ranked eighth in the SUNYAC in scoring… Cohen (77.4 percent) and Touhey (72.8 percent) are both ranked among the top 10 in the conference in free-throw percentage… Williamson averages 7.2 rebounds per game, which is ninth in the SUNYAC… Cohen's 2.4 assists per game has her ranked 12th in the conference… Minor averages 1.8 steals per game, taking the 10th spot among the conference leaders.
