NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team, fresh off a season-opening 16-9 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday night, will look to upend Hartwick College on the road at Wright Stadium on Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. RECORDS: New Paltz enters the contest with a 1-0 record… Harwick, also known as the Hawks, has a 3-2 record.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (1-0): New Paltz began the 2014 season in auspicious fashion with a 16-9 victory over Mount Saint Mary on Tuesday night… The Hawks broke free from a narrow 4-3 lead at the 13-minute mark with four straight goals to lead 8-4 at halftime… The Knights closed within 8-5 early in the second half, but the Hawks scored five straight goals to surge ahead 13-5 and win going away 16-9… Led by junior midfielder

Talia Tesler, who each scored six goals, Tesler's being a career-tying high, the Hawks outshot the Knights 38-24… Junior midfielder

SCOUTING THE HARTWICK HAWKS (3-2): Despite the winter conditions that have affected the New Paltz schedule, Hartwick has played five games… In their last outing, the Hawks got a goal from junior midfielder Emily Jweld with 8:28 to play in defeating Misericordia University 12-11… Hartwick came back from a 4-1 first half deficit and tied the contest 11-11 on a goal by freshman attack Lauren Rosenburg with 10:31 to play and got the game-winner two minutes later... Hartwick has played two State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) teams this season, losing to Oneonta 17-6 on March 4 and Buffalo State 17-11 on March 7.
