NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team will travel west this Saturday, April 19, for a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game against No. 2 nationally ranked Cortland, at 1 p.m.
RECORDS: The Hawks enter Saturday's game with a 4-6, 1-4 (SUNYAC) record... Cortland is 13-0, 5-0, having defeated St. John Fisher 15-12 on Thursday afternoon.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-6, 1-4): In the first half on Wednesday afternoon, New Paltz kept its game close against SUNY Oneonta, trailing 9-6 at halftime… The Red Dragons had an explosive second half, however, scoring 14 second half goals to earn a 23-14 victory… Despite the tough loss, senior attack

Carissa Citro (Miller Place, N.Y./ Miller Place) were able to score four goals a piece, while junior attack
Lianne Valdivia (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) also added three goals... In net, junior goalie
Jackie Ulanoff (Northport, N.Y./Northport) had 12 saves in the game.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Tesler leads the team and the SUNYAC in goals, with 40... Sophomore attack
Kelsey Healy follows behind with 26 goals, while Citro and Valdivia each have 25... Citro and Tesler, who also add 22 and 7 assists respectively, sit in second-best for points per game in the SUNYAC with 47 points... Citro also ranks third best in the SUNYAC for both ground balls per game (3.20) and draw controls per game (4.10).
TEAM STATISTICS: Offensively the Hawks sit third in the SUNYAC with goals per game (13.20), fifth in assists per game (5.60), fourth in points per game (18.80) and third in shots on goal per game (22.30)... Defensively, New Paltz is first in the SUNYAC in ground balls per game (23.40) and saves per game (10.60).
SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (12-0, 5-0): The No. 2 nationally ranked Red Dragons, according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, have yet lose this season... They defeated St. John Fisher, 15-12, on Thursday afternoon in non-conference action... In the Red Dragons' last SUNYAC outing, they defeated Buffalo State 18-4... Ten different players scored at least one goal in the victory, led by freshman attack Kristen Ohberg who had three, while sophomores Elise Bennet and Ashley Gentile each added two... Sophomore attack Erica Geremia had a game-high five points, scoring one goal and dishing out four assists... Cortland played two different goalies in the contest; sophomore Liz Ingalls and freshman Jaclyn Beshlian... They made four and three saves respectively.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Geremia leads the Dragons in both goals and assists with 29 and 41, respectively, tallying 70 points this season... Following her is Ohberg with 23 goals, 17 assists for a total of 40 points... Senior attack Taylor Reh adds 28 goals and sophomore midfield Tara Monaghan has 27... Inglais, the Red Dragons starting goalie, has 81 saves on the season only allowing 61 goals, facing 185 shots.
TEAM STATISTICS: Cortland leads the SUNYAC in goals per game (16.00), assists per game (7.75), points per game (23.75), and shots per game (32.75)... The Red Dragons have a 10.3 scoring margin, with 192 goals for and 68 against... Cortland has the conference best goals against average with 5.67.
LAST MEETING: New Paltz lost to Cortland in their last meeting, falling 22-10 to the then-No. 4 nationally ranked Red Dragons.
