Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team has made a habit of sticking tough a grueling conference season, and on Tuesday afternoon the Hawks were down 10-8 with 20 minutes to play, but visiting SUNY Oswego scored four straight goals in a seven minute span to earn a 16-10 victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference play at the Turf Field.

Carissa Citro (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) brought the Hawks within two goals with 20 minutes to play, but an opportunistic Oswego team got four straight goals from four different players to pull away for the six-goal victory.
The loss drops New Paltz to 4-8, 1-6 SUNYAC. Oswego improves to 10-5, 3-4 SUNYAC. The Hawks will play their final game of the season on Saturday, April 26, hosting SUNY Geneseo at 1 p.m. Oswego next heads to Elmira on Thursday for non-conference action at 4 p.m.
Oswego, which held a 20-8 advantage in draw controls and was nearly perfect on clears (16-17) until the very last attempt, jumped out to a 6-3 lead with 7:41 until halftime, getting three of those goals from sophomore attack Emily Lange. The Lakers cruised into halftime leading 9-4.
At the start of the second half, the New Paltz offense found life and the Hawks scored four of the next five goals, to draw within 10-8. The momentum swing was initiated by senior attack
Talia Tesler (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), who had two goals in the game and the combination of Citro and junior midfielder
Lianne Valdivia (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston). Junior attack
Kelsey Healy (Central Islip, N.Y./Bay Shore) also had a goal in the comeback and two in the game.
Oswego weathered the rush and closed out the game thanks to a 15-save effort by senior goalie Nikki Greco. New Paltz junior goalie
Jackie Ulanoff (Northport, N.Y./Northport) had 11 saves in the contest.
Seven different Oswego players figured into the scoring column, led by five from Lange and four from sophomore midfielder Lindsey Eggers.
