RECORDS: New Paltz enters Saturday's game with a 4-8, 1-6 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) record... Geneseo is currently 13-1, 5-1 SUNYAC…Geneseo faces The College at Brockport on Friday, April 25, before traveling to New Paltz.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-8, 1-6 SUNYAC): New Paltz lost to SUNY Oswego, 16-10, on Tuesday at the Turf Field… Trailing 9-4 at halftime, the Hawks were able to close the gap to 10-8 with 20 minutes to play, but were not successful in holding back the Oswego offense… In the game, four Hawks tallied two goals each -- junior midfielders
Carissa Citro and
Lianne Valdivia, junior attack Kelsey Heal and Tesler.
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Tesler leads the team and ranks fourth in the SUNYAC in goals with 42… Healy and Valdivia follow behind with 30 and 29 goals… Citro ranks fourth in the conference with 22 assists…Tesler and Citro have 52 and 51 points, placing them in second and third in the SUNYAC.
TEAM STATISTICS: Offensively the Hawks sit fifth in the SUNYAC in goals per game (12.25), fifth in assists per game (5.17), sixth in points per game (17.42) and fourth in shots on goal per game (21.50)... Defensively, New Paltz is third in the SUNYAC in ground balls per game (22.67) and first in saves per game (10.33).
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (13-1, 5-1 SUNYAC): Geneseo defeated Buffalo State, 21-10, on Tuesday afternoon… Junior attack Katey Hart had five goals and two assists, while senior midfielder Emily Haggerty added five goals and one assist... Against Buffalo State, Geneseo scored a season-high 21 goals and earned its seventh straight victory... The Blue Devils face The College at Brockport on Friday, April 25.STATISTICAL LEADERS: Senior attack Caroline Buonocore leads the team and ranks fifth in the SUNYAC in goals with 42, while Hart and Haggerty follow with 39 and 37…Haggerty leads the team with 16 assists.
