NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team will slip away from conference play with away contests against Farmingdale State on Tuesday and Wells College on Wednesday.  Both games start at 4 p.m.
 
RECORDS: New Paltz enters Tuesday's game with a 4-3, 1-2 record… Farmingdale State is 12-1… Wells College is 0-5… The Hawks are 1-2 all-time against Farmingdale and 3-2 versus Wells.
 
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (4-3, 1-2):  New Paltz looks to rebound from a tough 17-5 loss to SUNY Fredonia on Saturday afternoon… The Hawks scored the final three goals of the second half to trail 9-4, but were outscored 8-1 in the second half by a Blue Devils team that won its eighth straight game.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Senior attack Talia Tesler leads the team with 25 goals, which ranks seventh in the SUNYAC… Junior midfielder Carissa Citro ranks second with 19 goals, 13th best in the conference… Citro's 19 goals and 16 assists (5.00 points per game), is third best in the SUNYAC… Tesler (4.14) ranks fifth… Citro also ranks fourth in the conference with 2.29 assists per game… Tesler's 55 shots (7.86 per game) ranks sixth in the SUNYAC… Citro has 48 shots (6.86), which is seventh best… Citro ranks eighth in the conference in ground balls per game (3.71).
 
TEAM STATISTICS: Offensively, New Paltz ranks fifth in the SUNYAC in scoring (12.29 goals per game) and sixth in points per game (17.43)… With 29 shots per game, the Hawks ranks fourth in the SUNYAC and 22.71 of those shots are on goal, third best in the conference... Defensively, the Hawks rank first in ground balls per game, averaging 23.86 and fourth in caused turnovers per game (10.57).
 
SCOUTING THE RAMS (12-1, 4-0, Skyline): The Rams have lost just one game this season, 15-13 against Montclair State, a team that defeated New Paltz 19-11… Farmingdale State is in the midst of a six-game winning streak, having defeated Mount Saint Mary 17-11 on Saturday… The Rams led 9-5 at half… Three Ram players tallied four goals and junior midfielder Christy Thoden has eight ground balls.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: The Rams are a high scoring team (15.62 per game) with nine players who have scored 10 or more goals… The team leader is junior midfielder Nicole Marzocca, who has 42 goals and a team-best 28 assists for 70 points… She ranks second in the Skyline in scoring, first in assists and points per game (5.38)… Thoden has 30 goals and 22 assists… Junior midfielder Alyssa Handel and sophomore attack Kimberly Pepe have 29 and 20 goals respectively… In goal, Krista Spagnoletta has an 11-1 record and a 9.75 goals against average.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: Farmingdale has thrived off draw controls, holding a 206-68 advantage over its opponents… Farmingdale averages 30 shots per game… The Rams lead the Skyline Conference in goals (15.2), assists (10.0) and points (25.62) per game.

SCOUTING WELLS (0-5, 0-2 North Eastern Athletic Conference): The Express are 0-5 on the season, having lost to Cazenovia 12-9 on Sunday in their home opener.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Sophomore attack Lexie Roberson leads Wells in scoring with eight goals… She leads the team in assists with three… The goalie duties are split between freshman Brooke Spanbauer and senior Chelsea Dann with 25 and 24 saves respectively.
 
LAST MEETING: New Paltz defeated Wells 8-6 on April 12, 2003.
 
WHAT'S NEXT: New Paltz travels to SUNY Brockport for an 11 a.m. game on Saturday, April 12… Farmingdale next hosts Old Westbury on Thursday at 3 p.m… Wells hosts Lancaster Bible on Friday at 4 p.m.
