Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Junior goalkeeper
Alayna Wageman (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) made 14 saves, but the State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team fell at No. 4 Skidmore College, 8-2, on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks (3-2) will look to bounce back at Union (N.Y.) College on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m., while the Thoroughbreds (4-0) host Babson College on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m.
Wageman made seven stops in the opening half and an additional eight more in the second period, but the Hawks were unable to slow down the nationally-ranked Thoroughbreds.
New Paltz surrendered three first-half goals and five in the second period but was able to break through in the scoring column late in the second half. The Hawks were outshot, 30-9, and were edged in penalty corners, 6-2.

Kayla McKeveny (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) scored her second goal of the season off a rebound in the 64th minute and senior forward
Alex Gallo (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) ripped in her second of the year from in the circle in the 68th minute.

Justine O'Reilly (West Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) led the team with two shots apiece. Seven different players fired off a shot for the New Paltz attack.
