NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team will host State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Cortland on Friday, Jan. 16 at 4 p.m.
RECORDS: The Hawks are 2-0 in dual meets this year, defeating Oswego and Vassar… The Red Dragons are 0-4 after falling at Hartwick on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (2-0): New Paltz finished fourth of five teams with 66 points at the Tampa Relay Carnival on Jan. 3… The Hawks placed third in the 400 breast relay with a time of 4:49.55 thanks to senior

Cassidy Griger… Last season, Griger won three events against Cortland, placing first in the 200 free (2:00.16), 50 free (25.86) and 100 free (55.42).
SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (0-4): Cortland fell at Hartwick on Saturday, Jan. 10 158-133… The Red Dragons have also lost to NYU, Ithaca and Geneseo this season… At Hartwick, senior Krista Caputo, junior Chelsey Simon and junior Miranda Fergus each won two events… Caputo placed first in the 1,000 free (11:06.06) and the 500 free (5:26.86)… Simon touched first in the 200 butterfly (2:14.56) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.64)… Fergus won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives… Junior Chloe Freideman won the 100 breast (1:14.08) while sophomore Angelica Ford, Freideman, Simon and senior Lauren Kaplowitz won the 200 medley relay in 1:57.81… Last season against New Paltz, Amanda Grossman won the 100 back (1:03.60) while Ford took first in the 200 back (2:17.52).
LAST DUAL MEET: New Paltz fell at Cortland 132-130 when these two programs last met on Jan. 17, 2014.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Hawks travel to Ramapo on Monday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m.…. Cortland heads to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 12 p.m.
