NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The No. 3 seed State University of New York at New Paltz women's basketball team is set to host No. 6 seed Buffalo State in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Quarterfinals on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Hawk Center.
RECORDS: The Hawks earned the third seed with a 17-8 overall record and 13-5 conference record in the regular season... The Hawks are on a 10-game home winning streak coming into the quarterfinals... The Bengals are the sixth seed in the SUNYAC tournament with a 12-13 overall record and 9-9 conference record, going 3-9 on the road.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (17-8): The Hawks are coming off a pair of home victories during the past weekend against Buffalo State (W, 73-63) and Fredonia (W, 68-46)... The Hawks are currently on a 10-game home winning streak and captured the number three seed for the SUNYAC tournament... Sophomore guard/forward
Kit Small led the way for the Hawks in the weekend competition with 29 total points... Small has scored in double digits in the last 14 games... Junior guard/forward
Colleen Ames also had a big scoring weekend for the Hawks with 29 points coming off the bench... Sophomore forward
Courtney Irby recorded two double-doubles on the weekend with 10 points and 12 rebounds against each team... In the last meeting against the Bengals on Feb. 20, senior guard
Shannan Walker had 12 points and went 6-of-6 from the free throw line... The Hawks forced 27 turnovers and scored 23 points off the mistakes... The Hawks also held Buffalo State to an 18.2 percent showing from three-point range.

SCOUTING THE BENGALS (12-13): The Bengals went 0-2 in the past weekend contests against New Paltz and Oneonta but have claimed playoff berth as the sixth seed... In Saturday's game against the Red Dragons, senior forward Ashley Wallace recorded her 16th career double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds... Freshman guard Harriet Hernandez tied her career high with nine points and freshman guard Keyonte Edwards claimed seven points... Freshman forward Niasha Houpe pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds during the contest... When facing the Hawks this past Friday, three Bengals tailed double digits... Wallace had 24 points and nine rebounds on the night... Senior guard Olivia Luciani claimed 13 points and five assists, while Edwards added 12 points... During the contest, Buffalo State shot 41.0 percent from the field but was only 2-of-11 from behind the arc.
