NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The State University of New York at New Paltz softball team is geared up for their annual spring break trip and is set to play nine games in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from March 15-20 in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.

21137SCOUTING NEW PALTZ: The Hawks are led by second-year head coach Brittany Robinson… New Paltz was predicted to finish sixth in the 2015 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Preseason Poll… New Paltz finished 10-24, 7-11 SUNYAC last year, reaching the conference postseason… The Hawks return a pair of All-SUNYAC selections in Shayna Burgess (First Team) and Katie Rutcofsky (Second Team)… Burgess was also recognized as Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District.

20413SCOUTING EUREKA: The Red Devils finished the 2014 season with a 14-9 overall record with second-year head coach Debi Neff… The team went 4-14 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and finished in a tie for eighth place… Two of Eureka's returners were selected to the All-SLIAC Team… Then-sophomore second baseman Savanna Tapper was named First Team All-SLIAC after being named Second Team her freshman year…  Then-junior outfielder Kelli Dockstader received honorable mention… Tapper started all 34 games out of the leadoff spot at second base, hitting .305 with two home runs and 22 RBI… Defensively she finished with a .956 fielding percentage and 64 assists, and enters the season tied for ninth in Eureka softball history for home runs...  Dockstader returns to the outfield with a batting average of .333, one home run and 19 RBI in 2014… She only committed one error in the outfield for a .955 fielding percentage… Eureka has been selected to finish eighth in the SLIAC in 2015, according to a poll from the league head coaches released in January…  The Red Devils are set to play the Hawks on Sunday, March 15.

20414SCOUTING KEYSTONE: The Giants finished the 2014 season with a 12-24 overall record and a Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) record of 9-13… The team went 3-9 at home, 6-10 away and 3-5 neutral… Karissa Worobey, Antonette Scialpi, and Emily Long were each named All-CSAC Honorable Mention… Then-junior Worobey was the Giants' top pitcher in 2014, posting a 4.96 ERA, striking out 86 batters, recording 10 complete games with two shutouts and one save… Then-freshman shortstop Antoneete Scialpi finished the 2014 season batting .356 with 37 hits, four doubles, one triple, and a .927 fielding percentage… Then-freshman Emily Long was named CSAC Hitter of the Week for week ending March 16, 2014, and leads the team with 34 RBI, a .558 slugging percentage, and a .407 on-base percentage… Long also recorded only one error on the field for a .997 fielding percentage… The Giants ranked sixth in CSAC 2015 preseason coaches' poll.

20415SCOUTING SPALDING: The Golden Eagles ended the 2014 season with a 24-14 record overall, went 14-5 in the SLIAC for third place… The team returns one senior, three starters, and eight players from last year… This year the team will need to replace six of their top performers, including three All-Conference hitters… Then-sophomore Kelci Flener was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Midwest All-Region Third Team… Flener was also selected as the 2014 SLIAC Pitcher of the Year… Flener was 15-9 with 138 strikeouts, leading all pitchers in the conference in shutouts and strikeouts… Then-junior outfielder Alyssa McAfee hit .371 with 25 RBI… Becca Mouser hit .341 with 36 RBI… Incoming freshman Caroline Hale, Amanda Gilliland, and Robyn Schoen will all be competing for time this season to fill open positions… Spalding was chosen third in the SLIAC 2015 preseason poll.

5817SCOUTING MOUNT SAINT VINCENT:  The Dolphins ended the 2014 season with an overall record of 28-7 and a Skyline Conference record of 9-5… Returning pitchers Mackenzie Heizer and Kathleen Davis were both named First-Team All-Skyline… Head Coach Mark Roldan received Coach of the Year earning a total of 28 wins in his first full season… Then-freshman pitcher Mackenzie Heizer was named Pitcher of the Year for 2014… Heizer led the conference in opponent's batting average, saves, and 144 strikeouts her freshman year… She spun two no-hitters, and completed 11 games, posting a 10-2 record for 2014… Heizer additionally received several honors including the league Rookie of the Week, league Pitcher of the Week, and ECAC Metro Division Pitcher of the Week… Junior pitcher Kathleen Davis also joined the First Team with 11 wins, 17 starts, two shutouts, and 106 strikeouts… Mount Saint Vincent has been placed to finish third in the 2015 Skyline Conference Preseason Poll.

21244 SCOUTING SALEM: The Hawks will play the Spirits at head coach Brittany Robinson's alma mater, UNC at Chapel Hill, on Tuesday, March 17 at 7 p.m.... Salem is 3-4-2 this season, defeating Guilford and Shenandoah twice... The Spirits have hit two home runs this year, hold a .269 batting average, a .366 slugging percentage and .335 on-base percentage... Salem is led by fourth-year head coach Scott Long.

19805SCOUTING FROSTBURG STATE:  Frostburg State moves into the 2015 season under tenth-year head coach Wes Landrum, finishing 19-16 overall and 8-4 in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC)… Three returning Bobcats earned a spot on the All-CAC Second Team, including then-sophomores Renay Aubel and Lauren Capece, and then-freshman Hannah Tavik…  Aubel earned Second Team honors after hitting .341 with 31 hits, 23 RBI, 15 runs, six doubles and three home runs…  Capece took home Second-Team honors for the second year in a row after finishing second on the team in batting average (.343), walks (12) and hits (31)… She tied for the team lead with six doubles and finished third in runs (18) and total bases (52)…  As a pitcher, retuning sophomore Tavik finished second in the CAC in strikeouts (84) and complete games (15) and fourth in the CAC in both wins (11) and earned runs (52)… At the plate, she finished fifth in the league in batting average (.436), RBI (37) and home runs (7)… The Bobcats were selected third in the CAC Preseason Poll.

4234SCOUTING YORK (N.Y): The Cardinals enter the 2015 season coming off an overall record of 7-21 overall and 1-12 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)… The team was able to end the 2014 strong with a pair of wins… The team defeated the College of New Rochelle, 20-2 and 21-0 in their last matchup… York will be filling a few positions this year after losing several seniors including Geneva Faulk… Faulk finished her career setting the school record for batting average, triples, slugging, and on-base percentage… The Cardinals face the Hawks March 19-20 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
