NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team will travel to Cazenovia, N.Y. to take on the SUNY Oswego Lakers for their first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game on Tuesday, March 31 at 4 p.m.
RECORDS: New Paltz enters Tuesday 1-3 overall and 1-3 away… Oswego is 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the SUNYAC.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (1-3, 0-0):The Hawks are coming off a four-game trip to California and ended on a high note with their first win of the season against the Whittier Poets, 12-9... STATISTICAL LEADERS: Valdivia and Wagner lead the team with nine goals respectively... Valdivia stands alone leading the team with 12 points, while Wagner and Healy are tied with 10 points... Wagner holds the top shooting percentage at 52.9 percent, Stackpole is shooting 50.0 percent, and Healy is shooting 47.1 percent... Healy is close to perfect in her shots-on-goal percentage at 94.1 percent (16-of-17) and Wagner holds a shots-on-goal percentage of 88.2 percent (15-of-17)... SCOUTING THE LAKERS (4-4, 0-1): The Lakers lost their first SUNYAC game to the Oneonta Red Dragons 16-9 at a neutral site on March 28… Junior attacker Emily Lange tallied two goals, four ground balls, one caused turnover, and three draw controls… Junior attacker Erannan Shattuck recorded two goals and three assists… Shattuck secured her third-straight game with five or more points… Senior midfielder Mackenzie Kjerstad added one goal, picked up five groundballs, and forced three turnovers… On defense, junior defender Melissa Bulman scooped up five groundballs and caused four turnovers… Oswego was perfect on clear attempts (20-of-2), had two more caused turnovers than the Red Dragons (12-10), and nine more ground balls (20-11).
