NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team take on State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe No. 17 SUNY Geneseo on Thursday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m. at SUNY Oneonta's All College Field.

RECORDS: New Paltz enters the contest at 2-3, 1-0 SUNYAC... The Knights are 5-0 with this being their SUNYAC opener.

21137SCOUTING THE HAWKS (2-3, 1-0): The Hawks are coming off an 11-9 win over SUNY Oswego on Tuesday afternoon… The victory marked the program's first SUNYAC win away from home since April 20, 2001… New Paltz overcame 2-0 and 5-3 deficits in the first half to take the league win… Senior midfieler Carissa Citro led the Hawk attack with four goals and two assists… Sophomore attacker Melissa Wagner notched three goals… Senior attacker Kelsey Healy (2) and senior midfielder Lianne Valdivia (1) rounded out the scoring… Senior goalkeeper Jackie Ulanoff registered a season-high 13 saves against the Lakers… Wagner and senior defender Julia Johnson both picked up four ground balls while sophomore defender Nicole Gottschalk caused three turnovers… New Paltz outshot Oswego 29-25 and went 25-of-28 on clear attempts.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Wagner leads the team with 12 goals… Wagner and Valdivia lead the squad with 13 points… Healy and Citro have 12 points each… Valdivia and Healy have both scored 10 goals… Citro has recorded a team-high five assists… Valdivia and Ulanoff lead the team with 14 ground balls… Valdivia has caused a team-high eight turnovers… Ulanoff has turned aside 49 shots.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks are averaging 10.00 goals per game and hold a 76.7 shots-on-goal percentage… New Paltz is 66-of-95 on clear attempts (69.5 percent)… New Paltz fires off 26.6 shots a game.

2923SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (5-0, 0-0): No.17 Geneseo was able to hold off Rochester 10-9 on Tuesday, March 24... Junior midfielder Liz Felix had five goals... Senior attack Katey Hart added four goals, including the game winner... Junior goalkeeper Claudia Coleates made a key save with nine minutes remaining that helped lead to the victory... Freshman midfielder Erin Cregan tallied three ground balls and caused five turnovers... The Knights out-shot Rochester 19-11 and held a 17-12 advantage in ground balls... This season, the Knights have also defeated RIT, Nichols, New England and St. Lawrence.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Hart leads the team in goals scored with 18 and draw controls with a total of 17... Junior attack/midfield Tara Basile and junior midfielder Liz Felix are tied for goals scored with 10... Basile leads the team in assists with 13 and points with 23 and also has tallied 11 ground balls... Felix has the highest shot percentage for the Knights with a 62.5 mark... Cregan has a team-high 15 groundballs.

TEAM STATISTICS: The Knights are averaging 14.60 goals per game... Geneseo has scored a total of 73 goals in five games while only allowing 23 goals against...The Knights have earned a 78.1 shots-on-goal percentage.

LAST MEETING: New Paltz fell to Geneseo 18-3 when these two teams last met on April 26, 2014.

WHAT'S NEXT: New Paltz continues in the SUNYAC, hosting Buffalo State on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. for its home opener... Geneseo heads to SUNY Cortland on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
