NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz baseball team will travel to SUNY Oneonta on Tuesday, April 21 for a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
 
RECORDS: New Paltz is 6-18 overall and 3-10 in SUNYAC… The Red Dragons are 6-18 overall and 3-10 in the SUNYAC.
 

21137SCOUTING THE HAWKS (6-18, 3-10):  The Hawks are coming off a doubleheader split to SUNY Plattsburgh this past Sunday at Cantine Park in Saugerties… The Hawks came out victorious in game one, winning 9-8 in eight innings after trailing the Cardinals 8-0… In the fifth inning, senior designated hitter/pitcher Shaun Hansen hit a one-out grand slam, slamming a 1-0 pitch over the left-center field fence… The Hawks continued to rally, loading up the bases for freshman center fielder Jake Williams… Williams hit a three-run triple to a gap in right field to clear the bases… The game moved into extra innings, tied at eight and after hitting a double, Hansen was driven into home by a hit to right field from senior Rich Guido… Williams batted 4-for-5 with thee RBI and two triples… Hansen hit 3-for-5 with four RBI, three runs scored, two doubles, and a home run…  In game two, the Hawks fell 10-5… Williams led the attack batting 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two doubles.

2927SCOUTING THE RED DRAGONS (6-18, 3-10):  The Red Dragons suffered a three-game sweep from No. 1 SUNY Cortland this past weekend… Oneonta fell 13-0 in the first game of the series and dropped 10-3 and 21-3 decisions in the series ending doubleheader… Freshman Joshua Quesada hit his first collegiate home run in game two, a three-run shot over the fence in left field to give Oneonta their only runs of the game… In the final game of the series, senior Mike Cruz hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning… Cruz and Casey Kies each had a pair of hits.
