NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz baseball team will travel to The College at Brockport this weekend, April 25-26, in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) three-game series to conclude the regular season.
 
RECORDS: New Paltz is 7-19 overall and 4-11 in SUNYAC… The Golden Eagles are 15-14 overall and 7-8 in the SUNYAC.
 
21137SCOUTING THE HAWKS (7-19, 4-11):  The Hawks will face Brockport after splitting a doubleheader with Oneonta in extra innings this past Tuesday to complete a three-game series… In game one, the Hawks fell to Oneonta 2-1 in nine innings… The Hawks had a 1-0 lead entering the bottom of the seventh, but Oneonta was able to tie the game at one after a fielding error and win in extra innings off another error by the Hawks in the ninth… Senior pitcher Tyler Mitts threw 6 2/3 innings while scattering eight hits and striking out three… Junior catcher Tyler Bell led the offense batting 2-for-4... In game two, senior Shaun Hansen hit a two-run homer in the top of the fourth to give New Paltz a 2-0 lead… The Red Dragons managed to tie the game at 2-2 and push the game to extra innings… It was not until the 12th inning that New Paltz plated two more runs to take the conference win… Hansen finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI… Senior third baseman Mike Sparacino had a pair of hits and two runs… Freshman right-hander Conor Donachie threw 6 2/3 innings allowing one run… Junior pitcher Andrew DiNardo was credited with the win, pitching the last four innings.

19869SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES (14-15, 7-8): The Golden Eagles split their last SUNYAC matchup with SUNY Fredonia this past Tuesday… The Golden Eagles fell 3-2 in game one and closed a 4-3 victory in game two… In game one, Brockport jumped out to a 2-0 lead until the fourth inning, but the team fell short losing 3-2… Dakota Stackhouse pitched a great game, throwing seven innings while only allowing three runs off of five hits and one walk and striking out five… In game two, the Golden Eagles utilized a three-run seventh inning to win 4-3 after trailing to Fredonia 3-1… Zack Lander pitched seven innings, holding Fredonia scoreless through six innings … Jefferey Prouse was credited with the save after pitching a perfect eighth and ninth inning… Wesley Burghardt and Greg Ruddy each had two hits and an RBI… The Golden Eagles play Rochester Institute of Technology this Thursday at 4 p.m. for a non-conference makeup game.
