NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team won 12 of 14 events in a 136-111 victory over Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday afternoon at Elting Pool.
 
The highlight of the meet undoubtedly came in the final event, as the 200 freestyle relay foursome of sophomore Molly McCulloch (Rome, N.Y./Holland Patent), junior Aimee Del Favero (Auburn, N.Y./Home School) and seniors Maggie Heaton (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) and Cassidy Griger (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown Central) lowered the pool record in the event, swimming as an exhibition entry. Their time of 1:38.64 eclipsed the former facility standard of 1:40.25 set by the New Paltz quartet of Katina Lown, Ella Graffin, Cassidy Griger and Victoria Scalise back in 2013.
 
New Paltz rises to 4-1 overall with the win and next visits Catskill Cup rival SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. Mount Saint Mary drops to 9-4 with the loss and next visits Lehman College on Friday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m.
 
Freshman Katie Donlevy (Bayside, N.Y./The Mary Louis Academy) and Heaton both were double event winners for the Hawks. Donlevy touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.23) and the 100 individual medley (1:01.76), while Heaton won the 100 butterfly (1:01.02) and the 50 butterfly (27.44). Donlevy's 100 individual medley performance and Heaton's 50 butterfly swim were marked as exhibition.
 
Junior Kyrstin Gallagher (Walden, N.Y./Valley Central) topped the field in the 1,000 freestyle (12:02.72), McCulloch captured the 50 backstroke (29.64), freshman Kaleigh O'Halloran (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) won the 50 freestyle (26.03), Del Favero prevailed in the 100 freestyle (56.94), freshman Jaimie Kaefer (North Bellmore, N.Y./W.C. Mepham) paced the field in the 100 backstroke (1:03.20) and Griger took the 500 freestyle (5:18.05) as an exhibition entry.
 
The 200 medley relay squad of O'Halloran, sophomore Megan Joseph (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge), McCulloch and Griger kicked off the meet with a first-place time of 1:54.15.
 
Second-place performances came from sophomore Lindsay Feminella (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by-the-Sea) in the 1,000 freestyle (12:16.17), Del Favero in the 200 freestyle (2:05.59), Kaefer in the 50 backstroke (29.80) and the 100 individual medley (1:03.62, exhibition), Donlevy in the 50 breaststroke (33.46), sophomore Kim Kallansrude (Muttontown, N.Y./Jericho) in the 100 butterfly (1:03.59), freshman Nicole Lee (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) in the 50 freestyle (26.44), senior Ella Graffin (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) in the 100 freestyle (57.27) and the 50 butterfly (28.23, exhibition), senior Casey O'Connor (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) in the 100 backstroke (1:04.65) and freshman Samantha Conforti (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Lakeland) in the 500 freestyle (5:48.60, exhibition).
