Oberlin scored the first three goals of the contest before sophomore attacker Kelsey Aeberli (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) and junior midfielder Alexa Criollo (Queens, N.Y./Forest Hills) pulled the Hawks within one with back-to-back markers midway through the period. The Yeowomen scored four unanswered goals before junior midfielder Nicole Gottschalk (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) found the back of the net to provide the halftime score of 7-3.

Following two Oberlin goals to start the second half, Gottschalk answered to close the gap to five, but the Yeowomen scored twice more to push the advantage to nine. Sophomore attacker Caitlyn Morris (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) and Aeberli each registered a goal for New Paltz before Oberlin scored four of the game's final five goals to provide the final margin of victory.

Gottschalk, Aeberli and Criollo all scored twice, while Morris found the back of the net once. Junior attacker Nicole Stackpole (North Bellmore, N.Y./W.C. Mepham) was credited with an assist on Aeberli's second goal, earning one of the three assists awarded to the two teams throughout the contest. Morris scooped up four ground balls, while freshman midfielder Rachael Purtell (Minetto, N.Y./Oswego) controlled six draws.

For Oberlin, sophomore midfielder Natalie Rauchle netted five goals, while junior attacker Marissa Maxfield and senior midfielder Grace Barlow added four apiece. Barlow also finished with four ground balls.
