12th Annual SUNY New Paltz Athletics Golf Tournament a Success

| By:
Highland, NY -  The State University of New York at New Paltz athletics community came out in full force at the 12th Annual Golf Tournament at Apple Greens Golf Course. In addition to playing 18 holes at the scenic course, the day was filled with food, competitions, prizes and raffles, all in support of the athletic department and the student-athletes.

Golf Tournament Director and men's soccer coach Kyle Clancy said, "It was another great outing, with parents, coaches, and friends and family of the department all enjoying the great weather and beautiful course. We appreciate the support from all those that attended to help our athletic department and student-athletes as we look to have another successful year on and off the field."

For the third year in a row, the duo of Andrew Titus and Kennedy Cheruyiot finished at the top of the leader board and put on the green jackets. This year, they were joined by Young Son and Brandon Bergin who helped them finish at a remarkable -11. Close behind was the Williams family (Brian, Bob, Ed, Spencer) who finished at -9.

Cheruyiot also took home the chipping competition title after leaving a chip right on the edge of the hole that nobody was able to top, and Spencer Williams was the only player to sink the putt to win the putting competition. Titus won the male driving competition while Ed Burke won the "CAS Precision" closest to the pin challenge and Sue Uchida won both competitions on the women's side.
