Pleasant Valley, NY — State University of New York at New Paltz will host its first show this Saturday at its new home barn, Meadow Creek Farm. The Hawks are taking on their normal set of Region 3 rivals, Marist College, Centenary University, United States Military Academy, William Paterson University, Sarah Lawrence College, Vassar College, and Drew University.
A couple weeks ago, SUNY New Paltz had some stand out individual performances, as well as an impressive third place finish overall out of the eight teams. Junior
Frances Baldinucci needs fifth place or better in the Novice Flat this weekend to secure her spot at regionals and move up to Limit Flat and Fences and senior
Katie Zacharda needs sixth place or better to move from Limit Fences into Intermediate Fences and lock in her regionals spot as well.
"It's really exciting, especially to be at a new barn filled with great horses, it should be a great show," Baldinucci said. "Pointing out would be awesome, it'd be great to go to regionals this year."
Assistant coach,
Brooke Nestor said, "I feel excited and well prepared for our upcoming show. I am most excited to have our riders draw our own horses and for the other colleges to learn the SUNY New Paltz horses."
Come show your support for the Hawks this weekend as they host their home show for the first time, at 321 Skidmore Road, Pleasant Valley NY.
