Lagrangeville, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz competed at the Marist College IHSA Show Saturday and placed third of seven teams competing.
The Hawks totaled 20 points, finishing third behind hosting Marist College (37) and Centenary University (34) with United States Merchant Marine Academy (18), Drew University (13), Vassar College (12) and Sarah Lawrence University placing fourth through seventh, respectively.
Winn Schmitt competed in intermediate fences and placed fourth, while Austin Gago also earned fourth in intermediate flat. Maya Osborn secured second in limit fences and third in limit flat, while Ava Eller placed second in novice flat.
SUNY New Paltz is back in action Nov. 19 at IHSA Regionals in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
