BROCKPORT, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz women's soccer team dropped its second game of the weekend Saturday, as the Hawks fell to The College at Brockport, 5-0.
With the loss, SUNY New Paltz falls to 4-9-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the SUNYAC. The Golden Eagles improve their record to 10-5-1 overall and 6-2 in the conference.
Brockport controlled the game right from kickoff, getting off five shots in the first seven minutes. In the eighth minute, the Golden Eagles connected when Brylie Hapeman found the back of the net. and 12 minutes later Brockport struck again when Camryn Pettit scored to extend the lead to two. 
The Golden Eagles scored their third goal of the half in the 33rd minute when Pettit ripped a shot into the upper left corner of the goal for her second goal of the day.
Pettit continued her stellar day early in the second half. This time she shared the wealth, as she logged an assist to Kiley Longin, extending the Golden Eagle lead to four. One more late goal from Brockport made it a 5-0 game, which was the score when the final whistle blew.
The Hawks will get back on the road next weekend when they head to Potsdam and Plattsburgh for their final SUNYAC games of the season.
