Amherst, VA. --- The State University of New York at New Paltz NCEA equestrian team will take on both Sweet Briar College and University of Lynchburg at Sweet Briar's facility. Each team is seeking its first win of the season, and similar to the Hawks, University of Lynchburg is competing for the first time in NCEA as well with one show under its belt thus far.
The Hawks are coming off a 9-2 loss to Delaware State University, where junior Dominique Gago claimed the sole point over fences with a score of 70, and freshman Brynley Smith was the lone scorer on the flat, scoring a 57. While other riders put up notable numbers and good rides, SUNY New Paltz struggled to take points from DSU.
Friday's match up against the Vixens and Hornets is a great opportunity for the Hawks to be successful against a fairly evenly matched set of teams.
