Binghamton, NY-- The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team dominated Fredonia State Friday by winning 9-0. It was an all around win for the Hawks (6-1 overall, 6-0 SUNYAC.
Trinity Chow and Laura Koob started SUNY New Paltz off on the right foot by winning 8-0 at first doubles. Victoria Zezula and Jenna Grandville followed them with a tight 8-6 victory at second doubles, while Onalee Batcheller and Alexandra Dratch closed out with an 8-1 victory. 
Chow and Koob began singles with (6-0, 6-0) victories at ones and twos, respectively. Zezula won her match (6-4, 6-2) at third singles and Grandville won (6-3, 6-0) in fours. Batcheller won her match (6-0, 6-1) and Alex Chimenti capped off the day with a (6-0, 6-0) victory at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
"An all around dominant performance in both doubles and singles, although number two had to dig deep to pull out the win," said Hawks coach Rob Bruley. "Our victory guarantees us the No. 1 seed going into the conference final next week."
With the top seed in the conference playoffs already clinched, SUNY New Paltz cap off its Binghamton weekend trip and the regular season Sunday, when the Hawks face Brockport at 12 p.m. The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoffs start next weekend.
