After two-straight weeks on the road, the State University of New York at New Paltz is back on the North Turf Field for another tough conference matchup Wednesday, taking on Stevens Institute of Technology.
Â
The Hawks (7-3 overall, 2-0 SUNYAC) have won four-straight games, which all started on the North Turf in an exciting overtime victory against Skidmore University and was followed up with another extra time victory on their home turf Sept. 21 against the University of Rochester. They hope to extend their winning streak Wednesday against a Ducks team who are also on a roll as of late, winning their last seven contests.Â

Â
Stevens, like SUNY New Paltz, played and lost to nationally ranked Vassar College and Montclair State earlier this year. However, since their loss to the Red Hawks, the Ducks haven't dropped a game and most recently defeated Delaware Valley University, 2-1 in overtime Oct. 5.Â
Â
As a team, Stevens has averaged nearly three goals a game, while giving up just more than one a contest. Senior midfielder Michaela Thompson leads the team with 13 points on the season (four goals, five assists), while junior forwards Brynn Forehlich and Skylar Migliaccio leads the Ducks with a team-high five goals apiece.
Â
Sophomore Emily Franco has started 11 of` 12 games in goal for Stevens, registering a 9-3 record, totaling 57 saves on 138 shots faced with a .770 save percentage.
Â
For the Hawks,
Mackenzie Mortimer will get her fifth start in goal. She is 4-0 in her last four starts with one shut out, saving 28 on 36 shots faced for a .848 save percentage.

Â
Sophomore
Jessica Ascencao leads the team with seven goals and two assists, followed by sophomore
Shannon Bernhardt with four goals and six assists. Freshman
Jamie Wagner and junior
Carly Croteau have also added a combined nine goals and six assists on the season thus far.
Â
SUNY New Paltz own a 7-5 record over the Ducks, winning five of the last six matchups including last season's 1-0 triumph on Stevens' home turf.
Ryan Dowling needed to make 17 saves in the game with the Hawks clinging on to a one-goal lead late in the first -half thanks to
Carly Croteau. Stevens generated more opportunities on net, but SUNY New Paltz held firm defensively to register the slight, 1-0 victory.
Â
The Hawks hope to make it two-straight over the Ducks Wednesday when they host the visitors on the North Turf Field at 4 p.m.
