The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team is heading to Saratoga Springs, NY on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 to take part in the Skidmore Invitational. The Hawks will battle Union College, Morrisville State College, and Skidmore College, respectively. This will also mark the final weekend of play in the regular season.
"We are using these matches to focus completely on our side of the net with the hopes of fully peaking for the postseason," said SUNY New Paltz coach Matt Giufre. "We are looking to clean up a couple of our rotations and also find more offensive consistency across the board. We have been playing really well defensively lately and if we can squeeze a bit more out of our offense we will be in good shape."
The Hawks stands at 13-12 overall (5-4 SUNYAC) after most recently falling to Mid-Hudson cross river rival, Vassar College, in a five-set game (25-23, 14-25, 25-22, 24-26, 18-20). 
Junior Haley Timarky sits on top with 739 assists, while junior Demi Herasme has a team-high 65 blocks. Senior Kerri Neville is right behind Herasme with 60 blocks to go along with 36 service aces. Senior Nicole Fellone is the leader in service aces (54) and digs (411). Additionally, senior Maddie Van Pelt has jotted down 297 kills thus far after collecting a career-high 24 kills against the Brewers and leads the team with 329 points.
SUNY New Paltz will confront the Dutchwomen first on Friday. Union has an even record of 12-12 on the year (1-6 Liberty League).
The Hawks have a 14-4 record over the Dutchwomen with its last match played during the 2017 season in the same tournament and escaped with a 3-2 win.
Gillian Gore paces Union in four different categories: kills (302), service aces (59), digs (327) and points (372). Katie Moss has recorded 35 and right behind her follows Stephanie Libonati with 34.0 blocks. Additionally, Sage Shimamoto holds a team-high 482 assists.
The Dutchwomen enter the contest with a .210 hitting percentage whereas SUNY New Paltz has a hitting percentage of .170.
On the following day, SUNY New Paltz will face off against the Mustangs. Morrisville State holds a 19-6 record (11-0 NEAC).
Megyan Merrill has marked down 463.5 points, 423 digs and is tied with Sam Wolf with 34 service aces a piece. In addition, Wolf has contributed 495 digs, along with 75 assists. Hannah Taylor has added a team-high 519 assists with Kirsten Florio has established 51 blocks.
In the final match of the regular season, SUNY New Paltz will challenge the hosting Thoroughbreds (12-10 overall, 4-3 Liberty League) on their home gym.
The Hawks have an even 10-10 record with Skidmore after dropping three consecutive matches over the past three years and will look to get in front in their upcoming tilt.
Frida Anguiano paves the way in 280 digs and 29 service aces for the Thoroughbreds. Lauren Wolters is not far away from Anguiano as she has 27 service aces while leading with 413 assists. Alex Estey has jotted down 70.0 blocks whereas Katy Ehnstrom sits on top with 203 kills and 227.5 points.
The matchup against Union is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m at the Williamson Sports Center.
