Cortland, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly award winners Monday and State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse sophomore attacker
Tara Bovich was named as the SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Bovich, who currently leads the Hawks with 30 points on the season, paced her team offensively through their two wins this past week. She scored five goals, while adding two assists in a 24-10 rout of Eastern Connecticut State University March 19. In SUNY New Paltz's first SUNYAC game of the season against SUNY Potsdam Saturday, Bovich tallied two more goals and two assists to guide the Hawks to a 12-9 victory over the Bears.
Through her last two games, Bovich has connected on 17 of 21 of her shots on goal, shooting well over 80 percent on her attempts. Also adding to her offensive numbers, Bovich picked up seven ground balls against the Warriors and Bears.
SUNY New Paltz is back home Wednesday, playing Plattsburgh State on the North Turf Field at 4 p.m. before hosting Fredonia State Saturday at noon.
