Not many student-athletes can boast a junior season like what Madison Van Pelt had this past year. A starter on both the women's volleyball and women's

basketball programs, Van Pelt was crucial in bringing the State University of New York at New Paltz two more conference championships in an illustrious 2018-19 season.
Already touting one State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title as a freshman with the Hawks women's basketball team, Van Pelt became a three-time SUNYAC Champion this past year after helping both the women's volleyball and basketball programs capture conference titles this past fall and winter, respectively.
The 2018-19 season brought the most success SUNY New Paltz has ever seen throughout all of its varsity programs. Five teams won conference championships, including a national championship in men's volleyball, and all but three teams made the postseason. However, no individual saw more of that success than Van Pelt, as she became the first duel athlete to ever win a SUNYAC title twice in one year.

After playing for nine-straight months, going immediately from volleyball into basketball season, Van Pelt took the time to sit down and reflect on an unprecedented run.
