SUNY New Paltz Equestrian Preview: Hawks NCEA Team Hits the Road to Compete Against Sweet Briar

| By:

Lynchburg, VA — The State University of New York at New Paltz NCEA team is heading to Sweet Briar College at their host facility for the second time this year.  Earlier in the fall season, the Hawks rode at Harriet Rogers Riding Center where they fell to the Vixens 7-3, and they had another match up at Auburn's facility where the Vixens sealed the deal, 5-3.

After a five month hiatus of riding against Sweet Briar and conditioning to be stronger in practices, SUNY New Paltz prepares to face the Vixens for its third total match up this year and are hungry to come out on top. Being the second competition since the winter break for the Hawks, they are looking to build their momentum and ride effectively and keep chipping away points.

"The girls rode solid over fences against Sweet Briar, but struggled a bit in their flat scores.," said Hawks coach Helaina Ricciardi. "For the week and a half leading up to Sweet Briar we'll be working on tightening up our flat patterns hoping to raise our scores since the last competition."
