Each week the State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team will feature an alumna who will talk about their experiences as a Hawk and how being a part of the program influenced them today.
In episode eight, former Hawks defender AnnMarie Rudd, who starred for NPFH during the 2006-2009 seasons, talked about her time in the program.
Rudd, originally from Garden City Park, NY, graduating from New Hyde Park Memorial High School in 2006, captained SUNY New Paltz in her final year with the team in 2009. She helped lead the Hawks to an 8-11 record that season in head coach
Shanna Szablinski's first season at the helm. At the time it tied for the most wins in program history and most since 2004. Rudd never missed a game during her career, appearing in all 18 games in 2006 and 2007, and in 16 games in 2008 — starting in all. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz in May 2010.
