Harris Wichard starred on the State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team for four seasons from 2008-2012. The Merrick, NY native left the program as the fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,512 career points.
 
Wichard talked about his time as a Hawk and why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.

"There is only one New Paltz! I got the amazing opportunity to play collegiate basketball and be a student-athlete at New Paltz and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Many people at the school shaped me into the person I am today. I learned how to overcome challenges and become successful. Not to mention the state-of-the-art facilities and beautiful scenery. Whether I was in the classroom, on the court, or hiking Mohonk Mountain, I cherish all those great memories and wish I could go back and live it again!"
