Caleigh Carr entered the State University of New York at New Paltz as a freshman in 2017, earning time in the Hawks rotation right away and during her sophomore season helped the team to a SUNYAC Championship in 2018. Carr excelled both on the court and in the classroom, earning trips to the SUNYAC Academic Commissioner's List and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society.
Through her experiences as a Hawk, Carr talked about why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.
"New Paltz is a place like no other. The community at New Paltz allows everyone to express who they truly are and brings out the best in everyone. In my time here, I have experienced an overwhelming amount of support from faculty, staff, and students, and because of this, I have been able to grow as a person immensely. There are so many different personalities on campus, but despite this, everyone is open and understanding of one another. New Paltz has allowed me to create long-lasting friendships with people that I consider to be family. Within this community, I have found a second home, and that is why, there's only one New Paltz."
