Dominique Jianna Gago was a part of the State University of New York at New Paltz equestrian inaugural varsity season in 2019-20, competing on the program's NCEA team after spending her first three competing in IHSA.
Gago talked about her experience as a Hawk and why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.
"New Paltz is a place to call home. It's a place where you're supported, encouraged and accepted. New Paltz sets students up for academic success and opens doors to many opportunities. Throughout my experience of being a student and an athlete, I have made everlasting memories I will cherish forever. Attending SUNY New Paltz was one of the best decisions I have ever made because, I have come to realize, you won't experience anything else as great in just any other place. There's only one New Paltz."
