SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey Ranked No. 19 in Latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll

New Paltz, NY — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its week seven national ranking Tuesday with the State University of New York at New Paltz breaking into the top-20 for the first time this season.

Unranked but receiving votes the past three weeks, the Hawks landed at No. 19 in the most recent Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches poll, just behind SUNY Cortland — who they already beat this season — at No. 16 and No. 18 Vassar College, who they'll see in their regular season finale on the North Turf Field Saturday.

SUNY New Paltz heads into its final two games of the regular season at 12-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in SUNYAC. It will finish its SUNYAC schedule Thursday at home against SUNY Oneonta at 3 p.m. before hosting the Brewers for their regular season finale, also on the North Turf Field, at 1:30 p.m.

The only two losses suffered by the Hawks this season came in a 3-0 loss on the road against Skidmore College earlier in the year. The Thoroughbreds are currently 9-9 and sixth in the Liberty League, while the other loss came at the hands of No. 5 nationally ranked Kean University, which are currently 16-1 and second in the NJAC behind No. 6 Rowan University.
